Reloc ("we", "our", or "us") is a city guide and relocation-helper app for expats. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect: account data (email, first name, last name, phone number), profile data (bio, avatar photo), usage data (favorites, interests, city and language preferences), device information (OS type, app version — for bug-fixing), device push notification token (only if you enable notifications), and booking data (date, time, party size, notes, and contact phone number) when you submit a reservation request — shared with the organization you are booking with and retained until the booking is completed or cancelled. Location is used only to calculate distances to nearby places and is never stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the Reloc service, show you relevant places, events and services in your chosen city, send push notifications (only if enabled), process your account and profile updates, respond to your support requests, and process your booking requests and notify you of status updates.
3. In-App Notifications
With your permission, Reloc sends: alerts when someone likes or comments on your community post, or likes or replies to your comment, a reminder 3 days before an event you saved to Favorites ends, admin announcements, booking requests (for organization owners), and booking status updates (for users). You can disable all notifications anytime in Profile → Notifications — this removes your push token from our servers immediately.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with advertisers or marketing third parties. Address data of places and events is sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim only to obtain geographic coordinates — no personal user addresses are transmitted. Push notification tokens are processed exclusively by Expo's push service. When you submit a booking request, your name, contact phone, and booking details are shared with the relevant organization to fulfill your request. We may also share data with hosting/infrastructure providers necessary to operate the app (Railway.app), or if required by law.
5. Data Security
All communication with our servers is encrypted over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and never in plain text. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your data from unauthorized access. We retain your data for as long as your account is active — you may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen.
6. Your Rights
You may update or delete your account at any time from Profile → Privacy. You can disable push notifications in your device settings. You may request deletion of all your personal data by contacting relocapp.support@gmail.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Reloc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us their data, please contact us immediately.
8. Third-Party Services
The app and the website use: Apple Maps / Google Maps for map display, OpenStreetMap Nominatim for geocoding place addresses, OpenStreetMap Tiles for map previews in the admin panel, Expo Push Notifications to deliver alerts to your device, and Google Analytics for Firebase for anonymous usage statistics (screens and pages viewed, device type, approximate country) — on the website it stores analytics cookies for this. Each service is subject to its own privacy policy.
9. Anti-Abuse & Content Moderation
To keep Reloc safe, we track certain actions you take — likes, comments, posts, ratings, favorites, reports, bookings, and subscriptions — recording the type, count, and timing of the action, not the content of your posts or messages beyond what's needed to detect abusive patterns. Repeated violations can result in your account, or an organization's account, being temporarily or permanently suspended.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. By accepting this policy at registration, you agree that continued use of Reloc after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
